Humanity for Horses
Humanity for Horses is a sanctuary located at the base of Mt. Shasta on over 150 acres of land in far northern California. Established in 2012, it is a 501c3 non-profit organization that was established to rescue and sanctuary unwanted and abused horses and other farm animals. Over the past two years, in addition to the construction of horse enclosures, a hay barn, and animal hospital, Humanity for Horses has achieved accreditation from the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance (TAA) and Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries (GFAS). Sadly, many of the horses received have been severely neglected and require extra medical attention and have special dietary needs that add to the cost of caring for the animal. Humanity for Horses has a policy of not adopting back out to the public to completely avoid inserting an animal back into an abusive or otherwise negative situation and we do not support a breeding program. Currently, Humanity for Horses has 17 Arabians in need.
