Bint Bey Shah has achieved global recognition. According to AHA Data Source, she is the leading living producing mare in the world. She was also honored as a Dam of Distinction by the Arabian Horse Breeders Alliance at the 2013 Breeders World Cup in Las Vegas. Currently, Bint Bey Shah has sons and daughters in seven different countries and second-generation offspring in more than 30 countries. Her son, Psytadel, by Padrons Psyche, is recognized as a leading sire throughout Europe, the Middle East and around the world. Psytadel is owned by James Swaenepoel.

This year marks the 33rd anniversary of the All Nations Cup show in Aachen Germany. It is an event that has long held a spot on my bucket list of Arabian horse adventures and I am thrilled to be able to share the experience with my colleague, Lisa Abraham and other very special friends.
Among the friends I am looking forward to meeting in Aachen, are members of this year’s Nation Cup judging panel. I have had the pleasure to meet and work with several of them over the years in my role as the Judges’ Coordinator for the Arabian Breeders World Cup, held in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. In many ways, the Breeders World Cup emulates the All Nations Cup, which has a much longer history and is recognized as one of the top shows in Europe, and in fact, the world. Looking at the list of judges brings back so many pleasant memories. All of the judges for this year’s Nations Cup show have also judged the Breeders World Cup in past years, with the exception of Mr. Cedes Bakker, who will be judging the 2016 Breeders World Cup. By the way, it’s going to be a great show too and it will be the tenth anniversary for the Breeders Cup – save the date and make plans now to attend!
My experience working with show organizers and judging panels has taught me the importance of their role. It is my opinion that the judges really make a show. A good panel of professional, well-informed, knowledgeable and experienced horsemen and women, who are committed to upholding the integrity of the judging process, will establish the credibility and success of an event.
There is no doubt in my mind that there will be incredible horses to see in Aachen. I have diligently reviewed, saved and organized all the e-blasts I have received promoting the contenders and I cannot wait to see these horses in the flesh. I can only imagine that the judges are equally excited and anticipating the line up of contenders. I contacted several judges and were able to reach them as they were either packing, getting ready to board a plane or in other stages or readiness. They kindly offered these comments as they prepared to judge the top Arabian horse show – in the world! I hope to hear from more judges for their thoughts and comments.
Marianne Tengstedt, Denmark: “I am almost out of the door !!! SMILE !! To me, Aachen is the highlight of the year!! I am very much honored to judge this amazing show for the seventh time! There is a kind of magic at this show – to see sooooo many excellent horses in one place!! And of course, to meet up with great friends!”
Cedes Bakker, Netherlands: “I am looking forward to judging this great show because of the high quality and big classes. Around the world, everybody talks about Aachen and I feel I am a lucky person to be part of this show again for the second time.”
Richard Petty, USA: “I am departing Newark later in the day today, and I will be arriving Aachen Thursday morning at 6:00 a.m. Needless to say, I'm truly honored to be on the judging panel for this most prestigious Arabian horse show. I love seeing new horses and old friends. I can feel the level of excitement already!”
Luiz Rocco: “It is my fourth time judging Aachen, certainly one of the greatest spotlights of the breed. The many divisions for the youngsters can show the high quality bred all around the world, with a great variety of bloodlines, which is very important for the future.”
