On the 16th and 17th of January 2009 the annual Ajman Arabian Horse Show took place in the wonderful country of Ajman. As always organized by Sheikh Ammar Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, this very special show gathered together some of the best horses of the United Arab Emirates. Together with the beautiful horses, this show became famous for the amazing Closing Ceremony what every year gets more and more magnificent leaving the crowd astonished.

The center of the show arena was decorated with a typical winter scene. Pine trees and artificial snow had been the background of the whole show. For the first time in history, snow has been seen in Ajman...


The jury who had the difficult task to judge such a great quality of horses was formed by Mrs. Titti Gagliani from Italy, Mr. Willi Poth from France, Mr. Koenraad Detalleur from Belgium and Mr. Amir Ali Sardar from France.


The Friday classes started with the section A of the yearling fillies, that was won by a very charismatic daughter of World Champion Marwan Al Shaqab, Al Aryam Suhayla, proudly bred and owned by Al Aryam Stud of Abu Dhabi. Second in this class was the pretty Bourouz, owned by Ziad Abdulla Ibrahim Galadari and the third place went to Shams Al Bidayer, owned by Al Bidayer Stud.


Section B of the yearling fillies was won by Hasina Al Zobair, a very typy filly bred and owned by Al Zobair Stud. Second place went to Al Aryam Arwa, another promising filly of Al Aryam Stud. At the third place was Aj Sundos of Ajman Stud.

The two years old filly class saw again a very high quality of competitors. First place went to the Wh Justice daughter Juwanda OS, bred by Osterhof Stud in Germany and now proudly owned by Dubai Stud. Second in this class was Al Aryam Hanna from Al Aryam Stud and third was Bint Badeah, owned by H.H. Sheikha Azza Bint Sultan Bin Mohammed al Qassemi.


The winner of the three years old filly class was the beautiful Aja Angelica, bred by Aja Arabians of England and now owned by Ajman Stud. The second place went to Al Amirah owend by H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed al Qassemi and the third place went again to Ajman Stud with Om El Enigma.


After the fillies classes, it was time to see the beautiful mares who competed at the Ajman Show. The 4 to 7 years old mare class gave great success to Dubai Stud who saw its two mares, Lumiar bint Balzac and Shownel respectively first and second with the same total score. The third place went to RS Kasiba, owned by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahayyan.


The old mares class was won by the Brazilian imported Chammur, now owned by Ajman Stud. Second and third place went to two Straight Egyptian mares: second was the beautiful Mmecca, owned by Shikh Abudlla Bin Mohammed Ali Al Thani and third with the same total score was Imperial Baaraah, owned by Sheikh Mohammed Saoud Sultan Saqar al Qassimi.


The Saturday classes started with the yearling colts. First place went to Aj Darajj, a son of AS Natsir Apal. Second was Mansoor Al Zobair, owned by Al Zobair Stud and the third place went to Warrad, owned by H.H. Shikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qassemi.


The two years old colt class was won by Spartacus To, a very charismatic son of Marwan Al Shaqab, owned by Ajman Stud. Second was Zahi Al Bidayer, owned by Al Bidayer Stud and third was Bahij Muraqeb, owned by Sheikh Butti Bin Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum.


In the three years old colts class the highest honors went to Alfonzo, owned by Al Bidayer Stud. Second was the Wh Justice son Preemium, owned by Dubai Stud. Third was Najem Al Bustan from the Al Bustan Stables.


After the colts classes had been over, the time came to watch the marvelous Arabian stallions. The 4 to 7 years old stallion class saw a very tough competition. The first three horses were only a few points apart. First was Mahna Al Zobair, owned by Al Zobair Stud. Second was Alzeer Al Rayyan, owned by Sheikh Abdulla Bin Mohammed Ali Althani. At the third place was JJ Charismatico, owned by Ajman Stud.


The old stallion class was won by straight Egyptian stallion Maydan-Madheen, owned by Sheikh Abdulla Bin Mohammed Ali Althani. At the second place, only one point away, was AS Natsir-Apal, owned by Ajman Stud. The third place went to Ghabash Al Shaqab, owned by Ziad Abdulla Ibrahim Galadari.


Right after the male classes, the championship took place, but the winners had not been announced, leaving great suspense among the crowed.


Soon after the horses walked out of the show arena, the lights went off and some artificial snow was blown on the crowed. It was snowing in Ajman...


This was the start of an astonishing closing ceremony. Dancers with torches of fire, contortionists, magnificent horses ridden by beautiful fairies. The crowd was thrilled by such a show. And last but not least, a great show of fireworks that lighted up the sky of Ajman...


An incredible event, thoughtfully planned by SheikhAmmar, who every year impresses his guests with real entertainment.

At the end of the closing ceremony the Champions and the Reserve Champions were announced.

The champion filly title went to the winner of the Section A of the yearling fillies, Al Aryam Suhayla of Al Aryam Stud and the reserve title went to Juwanda OS of Dubai Stud.


The Mare Champion honors went to Lumiar Bint Balzac of Dubai Stud, while reserve was named Chammur of Ajman Stud.


In the Colts championship the winner was the charismatic Spartacus To of Ajman Stud and reserve was Alfonzo of Albidayer Stud.


Maydan Madheen, owned by Sheikh Abdulla Bin Mohammed Ali Althani won the stallion Championship and the reserve title went to AS Natsir Apal, of Ajman Stud.


Once again a great show, once again great entertainment. Who knows what Sheikh Ammar has in mind for next year, but we are sure, it will be once again a great event!
