Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show News for Wednesday, February 17, 2016
Today’s Official Scottsdale Daily News is sponsored by Rae-Dawn Arabians, Shirley and Murray Popplewell of Scottsdale, Arizona and Saskatoon, Canada – home of U.S and Canadian National Champion Stallion Bey Ambition (Regal Actor JP x Bey Shahs Lady).
Bey Ambition is an accomplished show horse and an leading sire as well. From his first foal crop, there are 11 National winners and their title are still increasing. Many of them are winning in halter and performance now too. As impressive as Bey Ambition's show ring titles are, the Popplewells are even more proud of the titles he has earned as a sire. These include 2011 Halter Horse of the Year, 2013 Leading Living Futurity Halter Sire and Scottsdale Leading Halter Sire, and 2014 Leading Sire of Regional Yearling Sweepstakes Champions and Winners. Bey Ambition's offspring are beautiful, correct and athletic and have earned National Championships in performance.
Tonight is the Scottsdale Signature Stallion Auction. Murray and Shirley Popplewell encourage breeders to attend and support this fantastic event, which is a cornerstone of the Scottsdale show, and consider Bey Ambition for your treasured mare. Shirley and Murray look forward to your visit to Rae-Dawn Arabians' Scottsdale location at 11249 E Arabian Park Dr. Please call for an appointment at 306.241.1199 or e-mail mpopp@rdarabians.com.
Wednesday Classes at the AutoNation Equidome will feature Half-Arabian performance competitions while the Al Shahania Wendell Arena will host Half-Arabian halter classes and end with the exciting Purebred Yearling Fillies. The Wells Fargo Advisors Arena has a full day's schedule of nonstop reining – that's a joke – get it – nonstop? The Scottsdale show's reining competition is some of the best and toughest in the country. After a lunch break classes will resume at the Equidome with purebreds and Half-Arabian performance. The Wendell arena will host Classes for Purebred Two-Year-Old Colts and end with the Purebred Yearling Colts.
Tonight, the South Hall will be transformed into an elegant area for the Scottsdale Signature Stallion Auction, which begins at 6:00 pm. Please plan to attend and bid on the services of the leading sires of the breed. Bidders must register – so be sure to take care of that today. The offspring resulting from breedings purchased at the auction are eligible for the highly acclaimed Scottsdale Signature Auction Classes, which offer fantastic prize money. You can see the list of stallions whose services are being auctioned by visiting the website www.scottsdalehorseshow.com . You are also invited to stop by the booth on the northwest corner of Wendell arena to see additional nominated Scottsdale Signature Stallions whose services are also available for purchase – these are offered in a silent auction and to pick up information about this important breeding program.
The Scottsdale Signature Stallion Futurity Classes are important for several reasons. They help to promote the Signature Stallions and their owners, they bring the top sires in the world to breeders to produce high quality foals, it promotes the sales and marketing of horses that are eligible for the SSS Classes, it promotes amateur handlers and owners to enjoy competing with their horses, and it pays out fantastic prize money. These are some of the most fun and exciting classes of the show – don't miss them! I hope to see YOU ring side.
