Scottsdale Show News - Friday February 13, 2015

Welcome to the 2015 Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show News and Reviews for Friday, February 13th. The show is officially off to great start and the excitement is incredible. The sponsors for today’s news are The Exxalt Partners and Ted Carson Training Center at Butler Farms.

Ted will be presenting the exciting young colt Exxalt in the Scottsdale  International Arabian Breeders Classic Yearling Colt class, which will be held Sunday in the Aljassimya International Arena at 2:00 p.m.

Exxalt is sired by the reigning World Champion Junior Stallion Excalibur EA, and he is out of the champion mare Vesperra, by SF Veraz. Exxalt is everything his pedigree promises. His sire line is one of the most prolific producers of champions in the history of the breed. Follow it and you will find Excalibur EA, Shanghai EA, WH Justice, Magnum Psyche, Padrons Psyche, Padron, Patron, and Aswan. His dam, Vesperra, contributes star power too through her sire SF Veraz, by Gazal Al Shaqab. This sire line has dominated the show ring and breeding barns for the past decade. Although Exxalt is just a yearling, his future certainly looks promising. You can see Exxalt when he is presented in his class, and later at presentations held throughout the week at the Ted Carson stalls, located on the north side of Wendell Arena.

Ted Carson is a highly respected and successful trainer and handler – and so much more. His dedication to the Arabian horse is his vocation and avocation, which is demonstrated by his unwavering support of breeders. Ted is hosting a mini breeders’ seminar at his stalls on Tuesday, February 17th from 10:30 a.m. until noon. The seminar, titled, “The Arabian Score Card, A Breeder’s Best Friend”, is free to attend and promises to be fun as well as educational. Everyone is invited, no reservation is required, just show up and join in the conversation.

Youth classes continue today beginning at 7:30 a.m. with reining classes for junior riders in the Wells Fargo Reining Arena. Performance classes for youth riders start at 8:00 a.m. in the Equidome and JTH halter classes begin at the same time in the Wendell Arena. The Markell Insurance Arena will host a mix of junior and adult dressage classes through out the day, beginning at 8:00 a.m.

Friday afternoon classes are scheduled to start at 12:30 p.m. in the Equidome and feature a full schedule of youth performance. Head over to Wendell Arena to catch the adult and open performance classes starting at 1:00 p.m. The Aljassimya International Arena will host the exciting Straight Egyptian and Egyptian Heritage Halter and Breeding classes. The addition of these new classes has inspired participation from many new exhibitors, owners and breeders of Egyptian and Egyptian-related horses.

Speaking of fun, youth competitors got together Thursday night for free pizza, popcorn, cotton candy and more. Three bounce houses were added and it was a kids gone wild situation! Actually – everyone was very well behaved and enjoying the opportunity to hang out and just chill. We caught a few photos of the party kids – check them out
